hi, a week ago i started producing a track in ableton and serum was working great, i put 2 osc with 16 voices and I know its cpu heavy but it worked like a charm until today. Its giving me high cpu spikes (70-90%) and even when i go into a new project with 0 tracks in it and i try to record that Midi, it still goes into that cpu range, anyone knows what could be the problem?
Your soundcard settings (sample rate, and buffer size) and affect CPU usage and/or CPU measurement readings.
Also if you are on a laptop you should make sure it is plugged in/charging.
You might want limit POLY in the lower-right corner to prevent an absurd number of voices from playing. E.g. maybe before you were using MONO.
But ultimately if you want to use so much unison you should freeze the track. IMHO usually 16 is very much overkill, I would only use that for very specific things (it turns red for a reason) and 7 or so is typically a sweet spot for unison - not even talking about CPU here, just sonic richness.

Thanks for the reply steve, great piece of advice about the unison, i will try everything you said and see if it works out.
