Hi,
I’m trying to use Serum in Odesi from Mixed in Key on the Mac. When I was using the Serum demo version in Odesi, it worked fine. When I signed up for the rent-to-own using Splice, it stopped working with Odesi and asks for a serial number. I’ve been speaking with Odesi support and they are trying to figure out why its not working but haven’t found a solution. I’ve also reached out to Splice and they told me there are known issues with authorizing the license and speak with Odesi support. Is there anything I can try to make Serum work with Odesi again now that I’m renting it through Splice?
Odesi is sandboxing (not sure why they choose to) so this means the app cannot access your system/user settings etc.
Command-shift-G in finder and type or paste:
~/Library/Containers
see if there's something there pertaining to Odesi (I believe there will be)
If so, that container needs the Serum.lic file copied to this location:
/Data/Library/Application Support/com.splice.Splice/Serum.lic
(original Serum.lic file is here)
~/Library/Application Support/com.splice.Splice
You'll have to do that regularly until Serum is paid off (or ask if there's a way to have Odesi not be running sandboxed, or maybe Splice can do the copy automatically in the future, I'll make sure they are aware of it right now).
Thanks for the work around! Your solution worked great!
Hi, I'm trying the workaround, unfortunately I can't find the Serum.lic file in the said path.
I'm using Big Sur, Serum bought through Splice.
in ~/Library/Application Support/com.splice.Splice there is no Serum.lic file, could you help me understand what can be done?
Cheers
