That is a really nice song. I'm hearing multiple layers on top of that melody (D>D#>A#)
One layer is the pad, a supersaw with a lot of attack and a lot of release (100% sustain), with a custom reverb on it, prob something like vahalla reverb or a special impulse. The second layer is some filtered wavetable pluck with reverb again. No idea what wavetable since its so spacey sounding but you can play around with a bunch different types. Then there is a white stereo noise with filter sweeps. (There is also a lower layer to the pad playing D#maj, it seems like a loop or other wavetable pad.)
the key to making something like this is just a lot of layering. Pads, plucks, chords and root notes.
Thank you for replying tsusurra and the detail of your post. I'm new to making trance, I understand half of what you describe but hopefully the most important aspects. Is this sound as a preset, something Serum doesn't produce because of its complex nature? I notice on youtube tutorials that this type of sound is only touched on, and that I at least haven't heard it.

Just a generic recipe I would make to remake somewhat in serum. However, Serum does PROBABLY play a role, but there are a lot of elements most likely used. Physical instrument samples, etc. The bottom line is layering different sounds, real and synthetic. My songs where I find myself layering tons of things happens from experimenting with samples I have and samples online. Stretching them to make them drony and drowning them in FX to get unique combinations.
