Hey!
I need some fresh eyes on an idea I want to try out, hopefully I'm in the right place:) So, having recently figured out that one of the standard wavetables of Serum is the harmonic scale (awesome!!!) I can imagine how cool it would be to have ANY scale (chromatic, major, minor, modes….) represented by sine cycles in a similar wavetable, and being able to morph around with it. I'm just curious how it would sound if a bass had overtones that were the literal notes of the key of the song, for instance. Or just the idea that one note could contain little "melodies" on its own. Makes sense?
Now, the harmonic scale wavetable is obviously just frames with the harmonic order (which is literally visible in the wavetable editor), but I don't know how I would go about making a different order. Is it even possible? Is this idea nonsense? I guess this can be done within a single octave with an LFO modulating the semitones of an osc set to sine, with smoothing. But what if I wanted that modulation more like a Macro, and more than one octave? Possible? Not? I appreciate any thoughts, or other ideas on how to morph between sine waves in other orders than the harmonic series. Thanks!:)
