Serum FX VS LFO Tool

Started by WXLF

Satan.. I mean Santa gave me $50 and considering getting Cthulhu or LFO Tool.. already have Serum

When Serum FX is released it will essentially be able to do what LFO Tool does with the filters, right?

Or will LFO Tool be able to do things that Serum FX can't

So if serum fx has the full functionality of LFO tool, that will make my decision easier

Well. Serum FX will be free for all Serum users…. So. Uh. Worst case scenario is that you only spend $50.

Correct, they said it will be a free upgrade.

So. Uh. I was wondering if serum fx will have the same functionality of LFO tool.. in which case I would just get Cthulhu…

anyways. never mind,  ill just use the stock devices in bitwig.

Serum FX won't have "full functionality" of LFOTool, namely

  • LFOTool has vector interface / can resize the LFO graph to any size
  • LFOTool allows for MIDI CC output
  • LFOTool has tons of presets dedicated for such processing
  • LFOTool can just "run" without MIDI notes needed to trigger it, as you need using Serum FX and wanting to use a LFO.
  • LFOTool has tempo-synced oscilloscope
  • LFOTool allows for selective-frequency processing (e.g. process only lows, or highs)
  • LFOTool has a compact, focused interface for the task(s) it does
Long story short, I personally will continue using (and developing/updating) LFOTool!

hmmm in that case… fuck it! i will buy both and support my fellow Brony!!!

POOONNYYY POOOOWEEERRRRRR!!!!
