I am on OSX and Serum 1.113
i have followed the steps to fix the crashing problem but after it rebuilds the preset database
but when i try to load a new preset it still crashes
HELP PLEASE!!!!
If your license is up-to-date and legal, you shouldn't have any problem. That version of Serum doesn't crash. :)
the above post is probably the correct answer (I don't see you registered for Serum).

I logged into Splice, and it installed the Serum plug-in on my iMac ('11). It seemed to work fine. However, I'm having the issue of crashing when switching between patches. It first installed v1.12. Then, it updated to v1.13.
I deleted the file you recommended and the AU/VST files. I also augmented the user.dat file. After reinstalling, it still crashes. Is there another place where remnants of old files hide?

I did the process and rebooted, again. And, I got it to work. It says SERUM Plan Active in the top-left corner (v1.13). However, only the VST works. The AU isn't working. It doesn't allow me to play a sound. The keys don't move when I press them, either.
At least it stopped crashing. Still working for perfection.

I somehow broke it, again. Neither Serum VST nor AU are working for me. I reinstalled from Splice v1.12 (which didn't work), then I upgraded to v1.13. Unresponsive keys + crashing [DAW] when switching presets.
Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope.
Using a forum post with [solved] in the subject as a catchall for issues isn't really the best way to keep this forum organized.
Please verify it shows 1.113 on the Build on the Global tab. Please email me a crash report -> [email protected] and I'm sure we'll resolve it over email.
Crash reports can be found in (command-shift-G in Finder) ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports

I have a crashing issue with my splice rent to own serum.
Everytime i try to load couple presets it crashes.
I use logic X in Macos Yosemite 10.10.5
I tried to deleted couple of times and reinstall it again but same issue all over again. How can i fix this?

The best way to fix this is to contact Steve via email. He'll respond rather quickly.
I also suggest cleaning up ALL old Serum files and reinstalling. The advice in the comments tell you what you need to do.
My issue was fixed after a few reinstallations and reboots. I was trying to quickly load Serum in Blue Cat's Patchwork and found out that was another issue. Serum want crashing my DAW anymore, but Patchwork crashes when switching presets unless you deselect "Track Undo" when loading a VST/AU. Hope that helps any of you encountering this.

Where is the folder in which I need to delete the file your talked about in Mac? I'm on OSX 10.11.6 and I have this problem with Serum 1.13
Same here Serum 1,13 crash on Logic X.
Steps :
1/ Open logic
2/ Create a track and open Serum
Result : Crash
Setup : Mac pro 10.10.5 Serum 1,13 Logic X 10.2.4
1)
command-shift-G and type or paste paste:
~/Library/Application Support/com.xferrecords.serum
delete User.dat (if present, otherwise just continue to the next step)
2)
command-shift-G in Finder
/Library/Audio/Presets/Xfer Records/Serum Presets/System/
right-click (ctrl-click) User.dat -> open with .. (other) TextEdit
select all text, delete, type something short e.g. ABCD, save
If the problem persists:
in Finder, command-shift-G (go to folder) and type or paste:
~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/
sort by date, send me the most recent crash-> [email protected]
Does anyone know why XFer 1.11b3 is crashing on ableton 9.7 64-bit? I tried deleting the presetDB.dat and also typing "ABCD" into user.dat but nothing is working. It's asking for my serial number again so I did that but it's still crashing every time I'm loading a preset through ableton or through the browser. Any tips are appreciated.

I saw on the previous replies that you have fixed this error for version 1.11, that's why you launched version 1.11b3, I've got this version to make sure Serum works as it should, but it's still crashing with the same problem.
I work on Logic Pro (DAW).

You need to purchase (the problem is most likely related).
