This happens every time I use Serum with Ableton. Ableton will crash when I change a preset whether Ableton is playing or not. I tried maxing the buffer size of Ableton and it seemed to help for a while but eventually it crashed again.
Any ideas?
Are you using the latest version? Because the latest version doesn't have that problem(there was one that did). Also, did you bought it here or are you using the rented version of Serum?
Make sure you are using Serum legally, the "other" one likes to crash DAWS.
Rent-to-own version through Splice. Not sure if it's the latest version or not. No upgrade available through Splice that I could see on my acct dashboard.
UPDATE. Problem solved. Updated Serum through the Splice app.
