Hey Steve,
I love Nerve, it has such a great workflow and was wondering if you're going to update it at some point in the future.
I really wish there was a way to layer samples or link pads. It would also be great to have more than one LFO (I like to modulate pan and pitch individually). I remember the Roland DR-660 had a feature that would allow you to link A+B Pages so hitting a pad would sound both samples from Layer A and B, maybe this would be a good way to implement layering Samples? So you could choose (per pad) if you want to link Layer/Page A,B,C (3 Sample layers should be enough for most cases). This would both allow layering and increase maximum drum samples unless you choose for every pad to have 3 layered samples (linked pads would be unavailable on the pages B and C).
Cheers
Hi dbot,
Yes I do plan to update Nerve. "Nerve2" if and when it exists will be a total rebuild and free update to all Nerve users.
For the near-term, it is possible to link pads in Nerve in the latest version using the Group set to 'L', E.g. 1L.

Exciting to hear and thanks for the hint. I hope it stays this lean, I've almost tried all the Drummachines VSTs and Nerve is the only one that feels like it's an improvement over Ableton's Drumrack and doesn't feel bloated.
Another small feature request for the current version maybe: It's great how you can shift+drag the velocity of notes in 16 mode, but it's not possible to also draw notes when holding shift (and instantly change their velocity). Would be great if that would be possible.

Hey Steve
I stopped using Nerve a few years back because of change of workflow etc. Over time I started using other beatmaker apps and realised Nerve has all of the features that I was missing from these apps so I'm back using it again and have fallen back in love.
What I'd like to see in Nerve is randomization for patterns and being able to make the GUI much bigger.
it has both?
the GUI is resize-able and there is randomization button for pages/patterns…

I do not see a way to resize the Nerve GUI. It does not have the handle like LFO Tool in the bottom right corner where you can drag out and resize the plugin interface.

Thanks. The day after I wrote this I discovered the pre-release version which I downloaded from the dropbox link.
The last update had me running in demo mode. This latest version cured that and I realised it has the features that I wanted so I'm over joyed. I came back to the forum to edit my last post but you replied before I did. : )
How do you resize the plugin interface…?
It's a beta feature (pre-release is atop the Nerve forum).
