Kick 2 is an awful VST but there is nothing better

Dear Steve,

I know you're currently working on a big project so you might not have time for this right now. But have you ever worked with Kick 2? I just described it to friends as "you're stuck in someone's dungeon and all there is to eat is rats". Then I remembered the interview with you I saw a few days ago where you said that you listen to issues producers have with current programs or the lack thereof. I assume you know Kick 2 and that it is a plugin that aims to make it user-friendly to produce Kicks from scratch - but the graphs are all wrong for example (the x-axis with time is a joke when you look at the filter envelope) and the workflow is clunky. The opposite of well done is well meant. I am sure you can make a much improved successor that I would certainly buy. Thanks for considering this =)

Best,
Bastian

I was actually impressed by Kick, in the sense of having frequencies plotted etc, I thought it was well thought out and original. My main gripe was the aliasing but IIRC Kick2 improved that.

Software tends to improve - developers are often open to feedback. You'd be surprised how much of a difference feedback can make, especially when very explicit about what you want and how it should be implemented. When you get similar feedback from various people, especially, you can realize where people are disappointed / where your developer 'blind spots' are.

So I would start by writing them and maybe they will accommodate your wishes. My passion is in doing new things, and after being copied many times, I'm even more sensitive to trying to avoid that.

Warm regards,
Steve
