It seems my Steinberg UR22 audio interface is less than optimal though it served me well for a year. I'm in need of something beefier that can handle operating with buffers at 512 or below, has solid Windows 10 and ASIO support. Any recommendations?

Personally I like RME interfaces, e.g. Fireface UFX. They have well written drivers and a very clean sound / good quality. However it's just a personal opinion and not an official endorsement. Although *marginally* lower latencies are potentially possible on them versus some other soundcards, due to the drivers/buffer handling, I wouldn't expect you're going to see much of a performance difference, nothing night-and-day.
have you tried the changing settings to take it lower than 512, because I can do full tracks with a buffer set to 128 samples, and get 90% of stuff working fine with 64 samples.
