ASIO Spikes with Serum

I am experiencing major asio spikes when using Serum, and this is occurring with only ONE instance of Serum running.
The problem is not my system, since my projects usually ends up with 100 + channels with effects stacked like crazy. But if one little Serum jumps in, it's fucked.
Even with the buffer-size set at 1024 samples and only one channel running with Serum, my asio-meter is spiking.
What could be the problem? I've re-installed it several times without any success.

Please first search "CPU" in the serum forum and you'll find some common causes and remedies, email me or post there if you can't resolve it, make sure you're using the latest version as well (check "build" on the global tab of serum) as there have been significant CPU savings since 1.0.
